History

Underwood Recording Studios Control RoomUnderwood Recording is a Minneapolis based recording studio founded by Mark Thomas Stockert.

An artist himself, Mark was  looking for a musical space to cut demos outside of the often expensive full-service studio facilities located throughout the Twin Cities at the time.

As it happens, this small side business quickly became a passion and Underwood grew significantly over the last few years from an 8 track analog facility to an Otari MX-80 24 track analog machine, Pro Tools HD 8.0, and a host of vintage recording equipment.

After a decade working in larger multi-room recording facilities, Scott LeGere joined Mark and lended his collection of mics, compressors, and vintage keyboards to the effort.

Today, Underwood hosts a massive collection of vintage recording equipment and instruments and has hosted sessions for Brian Setzer, Dillinger Four, John Starkey, Martin Devaney, and many more.

In short, as musicians ourselves, we couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to make music with other singers, songwriters, bands, and musicians. Welcome.
